What People Are Saying
Afro Deli catered our 80th birthday party of 19 guests. We ordered sambusas, coconut shrimp, chicken wings, salad, plantains, pita, hummus, tea...everything was delicious. The delivery was on time. So reasonably priced. Love this place. Danny was so accommodating in late changes and additions!
So far I've tried the Keke beef, Chapati wrap with lamb, beef and chicken Sambusas, chicken wings and fried plantains and they were all ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Can't wait to try more of the menu!!
I loved the wings and fried plantains! Un pretentious, clean well situated. Great for carry out and dine in.
Tried Lamb Gyro, the Wings and the Sambusas. Everything was absolutely top notch. I really liked it and am looking forward to going back.
Afro Deli catered for parties. I'm so thankful my workplace used their services, that's how I got to know this amazing restaurant. The food and drinks, the service, everything is great! I love their falafels, the spicy chicken wings and I'm addicted to the mango drink. Highly recommended for caterings and your everyday yummy food cravings.
Gotta love this wings!
Afro is an ICON. An institution. A petition was started to try to prevent its closure on West Bank several years ago before the move to Washington Ave because they are just that awesome. Nice people, amazing food. The only downside to its amazingness is the long lines during lunch, so plan accordingly. *Favorites*: THE FRENCH FRIES (omg), Somali steak sandwich, falafel sandwich, veggie sambusas, chicken quesadilla, chicken wings. The tres leches they sell are wonderful (but I gotta say I sorely miss the chocolate mousse cake thing they used to have when they were located on West Bank -- bring back the chocolate mousse please 😭)
Very good chicken wings
First, amazing Chapati: Chicken 8.9, Lamb 8.1, Falafel 7.5 (flavor preferences will vary but the Chapati itself slaps). Chicken Wings, 6.5: sauce is weak and wings are meh (so hard nowadays to find even a decent wing). More important than the food, however, is that you must check your food, because they always seem to screw it up, which really, really pisses me off - enough not to come back were it not for that delicious Chicken Chapati. If they ran their ship better, it'd have been a 5-star review easy.
